Accordo Minore

L’ accordo minore è composto da tonica, terza minore, una quinta giusta.

Si sviluppa per esteso aggiungendo settima, nona, undicesima e tredicesima.

Ha un carattere malinconico, caratteristica data dalla terza minore.

Nasce sul II dorico, III frigio e VI aeolio di una scala maggiore.

Sul I ipoionico b6, sul IV lidio minore, della scala minore armonica. 

Sul I ipoionico, sul II dorico b2, della scala minore melodica.


Come il maggiore ha un carattere di quiete e riposo.
Non è instabile e può essere tonica.
Gradisce anche muoversi e risolvere su gradi più stabili quando si trova in una tonalità maggiore.

In few words, a minor major 7 chord is minor triad (tonic – minor 3rd – perfect 5th) with the addition of a major 7th interval. It’s a highly dissonant chord (therefore it must be treated carefully) due to the friction that occurs between the minor 3rd and the major 7th. As illustrated in the two following examples, the 7th of the mM7 chord is mostly used as a passing tone i.e. a voicing between a minor and a minor 7th chord:

The m9(maj7) chord is minor major 7 chord with the addition of a 9th interval. You can also see it as a min9 chord with a raised 7th.
